Located in the historic city of Nanjing, Nanjing University (NJU) was founded in 1902, and is one of the nation’s oldest comprehensive universities. As a member of the C9 League, NJU consistently ranks among the top universities in China. Currently, it has 4 campuses, 40 schools and departments. There are 2,214 professors, including 30 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 3 Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. 43,643 undergraduate and postgraduate students are studying at NJU, among whom 1,396 are international students. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, NJU is ranked 62nd globally. Nature Index data show that NJU is ranked 4th among all the academic institutions in the world. According to the Essential Science Indicator, 22 academic disciplines of NJU are ranked in the top 1% worldwide. NJU has established close partnerships with numerous renowned universities and high-level research institutions worldwide, and it is among the first Chinese universities to attract international faculty and enroll international students. For instance, the Johns Hopkins University–Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies, established in the 1980s, is the first joint international higher education institution in China following the country’s Reform and Opening up.

1. Gulou Campus: RMB 52 per day (one bed in a double room) ; RMB 67  per day (single room)

2. Xianlin Campus: RMB 3000  per semester (one bed in a double room)
