Chinese Government Scholarship Type A (Bilateral Program) - Master's Programs
I. Supporting Category, Duration and Instruction Language
Supporting Category: Master's students.
Instruction Language: Graduate scholarship students can register for either the Chinese-taught program or the English-taught program if applicable. Program Search (By visiting http://www.campuschina.org) can help you find the program and university you're interested in.
Duration for Major Study: 2-3 years.
II. Scholarship Coverage
Full scholarship: It covers tuition, accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,000.
III. Where and When to Apply
Where to Apply: Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country.
When to Apply: You need to apply between early January and early April. Please consult the dispatching authorities for the specific deadline of each year.
IV. Eligibility
Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health.
Applicants must be a bachelor's degree holder with outstanding academic performance under the age of 35.
V. Application Procedure
Step 1- Apply to the dispatching authorities of your home country for the scholarship opportunity;
Step 2- Apply to your target university for a Pre-admission Letter once recommended as an eligible candidate;
Step 3- Complete the online application at the CGS Information Management System for International Students , choose "Program Category A", and print the application form;
Step 4- Submit all your application documents to the dispatching authorities of your home country before the deadline.
VI. Application Documents (in duplicate)
Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.
Notarized Bachelor's diploma (or official proof of expected graduation).
Academic transcripts.
A Research Proposal (minimum 1000 words).
Two Recommendation Letters from professors or associate professors.
Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy).
Copy of passport photo page.
Copy of valid HSK Certificate (if available).
Copy of TOEFL (80 or above) or IELTS (6.0 or above) certificate (if applying for English-taught programs).
Attestation of No-criminal records.
Copy of Pre-admission Letter (if available).
Other supporting materials.
