I. Program Orientation

Application-oriented undergraduate education. This program aligns with the development needs of emerging industries and engages in extensive collaboration with enterprises through project-based practice, internships, and practical training. It distinctively integrates leading enterprises’ innovative technology needs, standardized design practices, and talent cultivation programs, helping companies address major challenges in the Internet of Things (IoT) sector and broader social development, and supplying the industry with application-oriented senior specialized professionals. In recent years we have 658 undergraduates in this area.

II. Training Objectives

To cultivate well-rounded graduates with moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic development, possessing strong overall qualities. Students will master smart sensor technologies, computer programming techniques, network system development technologies, data processing methods, fundamental theories and applications of IoT, and IoT architectures. They will also have practical extended capabilities in areas such as computer network operation and management, and be initially prepared to engage in IoT system design, application development, and operations management as comprehensive, application-oriented technical professionals.

III. Program Specifications

This is a four-year program with a minimum of 210 credits. It develops students’ ability to apply fundamental principles and technologies to the planning, design, development, deployment, operation, and maintenance of IoT and its application systems. The program includes four primary tracks: IoT Operations, IoT Security, IoT Intelligent Recognition, and IoT Applications. Core knowledge areas include: computer programming, electronic circuit technology, intelligent recognition technology, computer networks and systems, information processing technology, IoT communication technologies, network and information security, and big data analytics.

V. Faculty

The program currently has 18 specialized faculty members, the total number of full-time faculty meets instructional requirements. In terms of educational background, 16 faculty members hold doctoral degrees（90%）, forming a team primarily composed of energetic young and middle-aged teachers, with a well-structured echelon that combines senior, mid-career, and junior members to ensure continuity. For core professional courses, the vast majority of whom graduated from IoT-related fields and all possess solid professional expertise.

VI. Teaching Resources
The program places strong emphasis on practical teaching and the improvement of laboratory conditions. Through measures such as “overall planning and phased construction,”over million yuan has been invested in the past three years to build more than 30 laboratories, meeting the requirements of practical teaching and forming an integrated practical teaching system of“course experiments + enterprise internships + project-based practice + science and technology innovation competitions.”
