Ningxia Medical University host the 2026 "Experiencing China" Social Practice and Cultural Experience Activities

7月20日至21日，由国家留学基金管理委员会主办、我校承办的2026年“感知中国”社会实践与文化体验活动在宁夏中卫顺利开展。本次活动以“生态中国·非遗匠心——感知中国式现代化的绿色与文化”为主题，组织来自巴基斯坦、坦桑尼亚、柬埔寨、伊朗、卢旺达等国家的35名来华留学生开展实地研学，沉浸式体悟中国绿色发展成效与中华传统文化魅力。
From July 20th to 21st, the 2026 "Experiencing China" Social Practice and Cultural Experience Activity, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and hosted by our university, was successfully held in Zhongwei, Ningxia. The activity, themed "Ecological China, Intangible Cultural Heritage Craftsmanship—Experiencing the Green and Cultural Aspects of Chinese Modernization," organized 35 international students from countries including Pakistan, Tanzania, Cambodia, Iran, and Rwanda to conduct field studies and immerse themselves in the achievements of China's green development and the charm of traditional Chinese culture.

活动首站走进中卫市何滩村。留学生们近距离探访乡村发展实景。整洁宜居的村居环境、优美的生态风貌与特色文旅产业，全面展现了新时代乡村振兴的崭新面貌，让留学生直观感受中国式现代化在基层的生动实践。同时，学校还举行实践基地授牌仪式，正式将中卫何滩村设为来华留学生国情教育基地、腾格里沙漠研学基地设为来华留学生文化体验基地，为学校常态化开展留学生国情教育与实践研学搭建了优质长效育人平台。
The first stop of the activity was Hetan Village in Zhongwei City. International students explored the village's development firsthand. The clean and livable environment, beautiful ecological landscape, and distinctive cultural tourism industry fully showcased the new face of rural revitalization in the new era, allowing international students to directly experience the vivid practice of Chinese-style modernization at the grassroots level. Simultaneously, the university held a ceremony to officially designate Hetan Village in Zhongwei as a national conditions education base for international students and the Tengger Desert study tour base as a cultural experience base for international students, establishing a high-quality and long-term educational platform for the university to regularly conduct national conditions education and practical study tours for international students.

随后，大家前往汉唐光伏电站，专题学习调研“板上发电、板下固沙、板间种草”立体化生态治理模式，深入了解当地新能源产业发展与生态修复协同共进的创新发展路径。在腾格里沙漠治沙体验区，治沙专家现场讲解麦草方格固沙技术原理，留学生分组动手实操、参与治沙作业，真切体悟荒漠化治理的艰辛不易与代代治沙人久久为功的奋斗精神。
Afterwards, the group visited the Hantang Photovoltaic Power Station to conduct a special study and research on the three-dimensional ecological governance model of "power generation on the panels, sand fixation beneath the panels, and grass planting between the panels," gaining a deeper understanding of the innovative development path of synergistic development of the local new energy industry and ecological restoration. At the Tengger Desert sand control experience area, sand control experts explained the principles of straw checkerboard sand fixation technology on-site. International students participated in hands-on sand control operations in groups, truly experiencing the arduousness of desertification control and the persistent spirit of generations of sand control workers.

在参观中卫博物馆时，大家系统了解当地数十年“沙退人进”的生态治理变迁，深度感悟了黄河文化滋养下的塞上人文底蕴。在体验非遗麻绳编织过程中，大家亲手制作非遗手工作品，近距离感受传统手工艺的生态智慧与匠心传承。活动全程，留学生们以镜头记录研学见闻，并通过海外社交平台积极分享实践实况，主动向国际社会讲述真实、立体的中国故事。
During their visit to the Zhongwei Museum, the group gained a systematic understanding of the local ecological transformation over the past decades, from desertification to human habitation, and deeply appreciated the rich cultural heritage of the northern frontier nurtured by the Yellow River. In the hands-on experience of intangible cultural heritage hemp rope weaving, they created their own handicrafts, experiencing firsthand the ecological wisdom and craftsmanship passed down through traditional handicrafts. Throughout the activity, the international students documented their learning experiences with cameras and actively shared their experiences on overseas social media platforms, proactively telling a true and multifaceted story of China to the international community.

本次实践活动内容丰富、成效显著，让全体留学生学有所获、思有所悟。马里籍博士留学生图磊表示，亲身参与麦草方格固沙实践后，深刻体会到中国荒漠化治理的攻坚克难之路，中卫成熟完善的生态治理模式，为其家乡风沙防治工作提供了宝贵借鉴。巴基斯坦留学生拉芙对传统麻绳编织技艺赞叹不已，表示将积极向亲友分享本次研学经历，主动传播中国绿色发展成果与传统文化魅力。大家一致认为，此次活动有效打破了固有片面认知，进一步深化了对中国生态优先、绿色发展现代化道路的理解与认同。
This practical activity was rich in content and yielded significant results, enabling all international students to learn and gain insights. Tu Lei, a doctoral student from Mali, stated that after personally participating in the straw checkerboard sand-fixing practice, he deeply appreciated China's arduous journey in combating desertification, and that Zhongwei's mature and comprehensive ecological governance model provided valuable lessons for wind and sand control work in his hometown. Lav, an international student from Pakistan, was full of praise for the traditional hemp rope weaving technique and expressed her intention to actively share this study tour experience with her family and friends, proactively promoting China's green development achievements and the charm of traditional culture. Everyone agreed that this activity effectively broke down preconceived notions and further deepened their understanding and recognition of China's path of prioritizing ecology and pursuing green development for modernization.
