High-Level Postgraduate Program

The Chinese Government Scholarship "High-Level Postgraduate" program selects and admits international students with outstanding academic backgrounds, exceptional professional capabilities, and future development potential based on the principles of "individual application, institutional recommendation, expert evaluation, and merit-based admission."

Silk Road Program

The "Silk Road" program was established to implement the initiatives outlined in the "Vision and Actions on Promoting the Joint Construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road" and the requirements set forth in the "Education Action Plan for Promoting the Joint Construction of the Belt and Road." It aims to cultivate industry leaders and highly skilled professionals for countries jointly building the Belt and Road.

Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program

To promote the mutual understanding and friendship between China and other countries, and to provide education opportunities to the youths worldwide who enjoy good potentials in their career development, the Chinese Government established the “Youth of Excellence Scheme of China Program ” with the aim of providing financial support to the outstanding youths coming to China to pursue a Master's degree.

Type A Programs

Nanjing University accepts applicants for different Chinese Government Scholarship - Type A programs. Applicants need to submit their applications to the dispatching agencies in their home countries, which are usually the local Chinese embassy/consulate, and put Nanjing University as a preferred school in their applications.

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

To meet the growing international demand for Chinese language teachers, facilitate Chinese language education around the world, and support the professional development of Chinese language teachers, the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) has established the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship for eligible Chinese language teachers outside of China. Confucius Institutes, independent Confucius Classrooms, selected HSK test centres, foreign educational institutions, Chinese language teacher training programs/Chinese departments at foreign universities, professional associations for Chinese language teaching, and Chinese embassies (consulates) abroad may recommend outstanding students and in-service Chinese language teachers to further their studies in international Chinese language education and related programs at Chinese universities.

Confucius China Studies Program

The Confucius China Studies Program provides prestigious PhD fellowships in Sinology, China Studies or related humanities and social sciences, sponsors in-depth research opportunities in China, and collaborates on Chair or professorship with overseas universities.

Nanjing Municipal Scholarship

Nanjing Government Scholarship of International Students was established by Nanjing Municipal Government in 2013 to attract and encourage outstanding international students to conduct studies and research at universities in Nanjing.
