Chinese Government Scholarship Type A (Bilateral Program) - Undergraduate Programs
I. Supporting Category, Duration and Instruction Language
Supporting Category: Undergraduate students.
Instruction Language: Undergraduate scholarship recipients must register for Chinese-taught credit courses.
Duration for Major Study: 4 years.
II. Scholarship Coverage
Full scholarship: Covers tuition, accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of CNY 2,500.
III. Where and When to Apply
Where to Apply: Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country.
When to Apply: Apply between early January and early April. Consult the dispatching authorities for the specific deadline.
IV. Eligibility
Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health.
Applicants must be a high school graduate with outstanding academic performance and under the age of 25.
V. Application Procedure
Apply to your home country's dispatching authorities for a scholarship opportunity.
If recommended, apply to a target university for a Pre-admission Letter.
Complete the online application at the CGS Information Management System for International Students , choose "Program Category A", and print the application form.
Submit all required application documents to your home country's dispatching authorities before the deadline.
VI. Application Documents (in duplicate)
Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship.
Notarized highest diploma (or proof of expected graduation).
Academic transcripts.
A Study Plan (minimum 200 words).
Valid documents of your legal guardians in China (only if under 18).
Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy).
Copy of passport photo page.
Copy of valid HSK Certificate (if available).
Attestation of No-criminal records.
Copy of Pre-admission Letter (if available).
Other supporting materials (e.g., certificates of awards).
NOTE: All documents should be bound together. No application documents will be returned.
VII. Placement & Scholarship Confirmation
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) will review applications.
CSC reserves the right to adjust the placement university, field of study, or scholarship duration.
Final admission documents will be sent by July 31st.
Scholarship recipients cannot change their host university, major, or duration of study after arrival in China.
