Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine (SUCM) was founded in 1959. SUCM currently has five first-level disciplines authorized to grant master’s degrees: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Chinese Materia Medica, Clinical Medicine, and Pharmacy. It also offers six categories of professional master’s degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Materia Medica, Nursing, Public Health, Applied Psychology, and Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and is qualified to confer master’s degrees to applicants with equivalent academic qualifications.

As one of the earliest universities in China authorized to offer Traditional Chinese Medicine education to international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, SUCM is renowned for its deep cultural heritage in Chinese medicine. It is a host institution for both the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Shaanxi Sanqin International Student Scholarship.

SUCM has established intercollegiate cooperation and exchange relations with universities in countries such as the United States, Canada, South Korea, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and Poland, as well as in regions including Taiwan and Hong Kong. To date, it has trained more than 3,000 professionals in Traditional Chinese Medicine for the international community.
