Recently, the American Geophysical Union (AGU) announced the recipients of the 2026 Global Environmental Change Early Career Award. Professor Li Ke from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) was selected in recognition of his outstanding research contributions to advancing the understanding of air pollution under complex chemical and meteorological conditions, among other areas.

The AGU Global Environmental Change Early Career Award recognizes early-career scientists from around the world who have made outstanding achievements within 10 years of receiving their doctoral degrees, honoring their “outstanding contributions to research, education, and societal impact in the field of global environmental change.” A total of five early-career scientists were selected for the 2026 award. Founded in 1919, the American Geophysical Union is an international scholarly organization covering fields including Earth sciences, atmospheric sciences, ocean sciences, hydrological sciences, and space sciences. It has more than 60,000 members across over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Each year, the AGU Annual Meeting attracts approximately 30,000 scientists from around the world.

担任Science Bulletin、Geophysical Research Letters、Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics、Environmental Research Letters等期刊编委或编辑。

Professor Li Ke received his bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science from NUIST and his PhD from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has long been engaged in research on atmospheric chemistry and climate change. His work primarily uses atmospheric chemistry numerical models, combined with environmental big data and statistical analysis methods, to address fundamental scientific questions related to air pollution and climate. He has published more than 100 SCI-indexed papers, which have received over 10,000 citations. He has received numerous honors, including the Xie Yibing Young Meteorological Science and Technology Award and the DAMO Academy Green Orange Award. He also serves on the editorial boards or as an editor for journals including Science Bulletin, Geophysical Research Letters, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, and Environmental Research Letters.
