Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HITSZ), established in 2002 through a strategic collaboration between Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and the Shenzhen Municipal Government, is a key component of HIT’s “One University, Three Campuses” system.
HIT has a rich history dating back to 1920, as a member of China's top nine University Union (C9). It is a National Key University with science and engineering as its core and has developed to include management, liberal arts, economy, law and other disciplines. In the US News ranking for the Best Global Universities for Engineering, HIT ranked No.3 in China and No.5 globally.
Leveraging HIT's strengths in engineering and research, HITSZ spans multiple schools and research centres focused on cutting-edge areas such as materials science, intelligent manufacturing, future information technology, AI, smart cities, marine engineering and biopharmaceuticals.
HITSZ boasts nearly 10 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as many overseas academicians. Over 80% of the full-time faculty members have overseas study or work experience, and nearly 90% are recognized as high-level talents at various levels by the national and Shenzhen municipal governments.
