At the opening ceremony, Shen Wei delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the university. He noted that the workshop was an important opportunity for HZNU to participate in the APEC Young Entrepreneurs Conference and further advance its internationalization, as well as a concrete initiative to actively serve local development and promote coordinated efforts across education, science and technology, and talent. The digital economy and green transition are currently creating abundant entrepreneurial opportunities, while young people have become an important force driving innovation and development across the Asia-Pacific. HZNU has a strong innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and an open approach to education, and will continue to empower young entrepreneurs across the Asia-Pacific in their growth. He encouraged young participants to seize opportunities in digital trade, strengthen cross-economy collaboration, and turn their ideas into projects more quickly. The university will take this workshop as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with APEC economies in education, scientific and technological innovation, and other fields, while building platforms for youth dialogue and project incubation.

During the “Lightning Platform Presentations” session, the Alibaba.com team introduced tools such as Accio Work under the theme “From Inspiration to Global Business: How AI Can Turn One Person into a Company,” demonstrating how they can be used for market analysis, product selection, store setup, and intelligent customer service, and showing how AI can lower the barriers to entrepreneurship in cross-border e-commerce. The Amazon Global Selling team presented “An Introduction to Amazon North America in 2026,” sharing insights into the North American market, marketplace rules, and key considerations for localized operations.

At the Alibaba session, participants used smart pet feeders as a starting point to rethink product scenarios. One group proposed developing a feeder for large animals and, within two hours, completed product selection through voting, formed a team, used Accio Work, developed a one-page proposal, and initially set up an online store, experiencing the complete process of “running a foreign trade business with one person plus AI.” At the Amazon session, participants worked with a virtual product, the JoyBlend portable blender, and analyzed its product listing from six dimensions—search terms, title, selling points, images, pricing, and reviews. They completed the title writing, selling-point refinement, and pricing calculations, and produced a cross-border product launch plan. Both training sessions emphasized low barriers to entry and collaboration, covering the entire process from product selection and operations to copywriting and presentation.
