On January 4, the “Chinese Bridge” Training Camp for Kazakhstani Students in China, sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and hosted by Changzhou College of Information Technology (CCIT), officially commenced. With the theme “Digital Silk Road · Smart Link to the Future”, the camp aimed to build a platform for Chinese and Kazakhstani youth to engage in language learning, cultural exchange, and digital technology practice. Xu Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CCIT, along with heads of relevant departments, secondary colleges, and representatives of faculty and students, attended the opening ceremony.

In her address on behalf of CCIT, President Xu Jianjun extended a warm welcome to the Kazakh teachers and students who had traveled a long distance. She pointed out that Kazakhstan is an important partner in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and educational exchange represents one of the most dynamic aspects of cultural interaction between the two countries. CCIT has consistently pursued an international education strategy and continues to expand educational cooperation with Belt and Road partner countries. She encouraged the participants to cherish this opportunity, engage actively in learning, and immerse themselves in the experience, striving to be young envoys for friendly exchanges between China and Kazakhstan.

Duisenbay Kulpynay, the group’s representative, expressed her gratitude to the college for its meticulous organization and warm hospitality. She stated that this program provides Kazakhstani youth with a valuable opportunity to experience China, learn the Chinese language, and explore technology. She expressed her hope that the participants would broaden their horizons, forge friendships, and apply what they have learned to their future career development.

Wang Yifei, a faculty representative from the School of Digital Creativity, expressed the expectation for cross-cultural teaching and the welcome to the participants in an engaging and lively manner. Xiao Lu, the Kazakh student representative, delivered a speech in fluent Chinese, shared her enthusiasm for Chinese culture and the vision of learning digital technologies, and initiated all campers to communicate actively and experience in depth.

At the opening ceremony, Kazakhstani students performed a traditional folk song evoking the vast grasslands. The melodious and heartfelt singing showcased their unique cultural charm.

This training camp, as a national-level “Chinese Bridge” Partnership Program project sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, represents a concrete action by CCIT in response to the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting mutual learning among civilizations and people-to-people connectivity. The two-week camp is structured around two main themes: “digital technology” and “cultural experience.” It features courses such as Chinese language workshops, cultural salons, laser engraving, and drone operations. In addition, the participants will be organized to visit and study in leading Chinese enterprises such as BYD.

Taking this Chinese Bridge Training Camp as an opportunity, CCIT will further deepen educational cooperation with Belt and Road partner countries, advance the internationalization of vocational education, and contribute “CCIT strength” to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
