I. Opening | Gathering at BSU, Embarking on a New Journey of Studying Abroad

At noon on September 22, the 2026 New International Student Welcome Meeting of Beijing Sport University was held in the Shitong Lecture Hall. Wang Ronghui, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, attended and delivered a speech. Yu Liang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office; Wang Xueshuang, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School; Yang Zhihui, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department; Zhang Guozheng, Director of the Training and Competition Department; Yang Yong, Deputy Director of the Logistics Management Department; Fan Ming, Dean of the School of International Education and Exchange; Wu Jun, Vice Dean; Li Jing, Vice Dean; Kuang Xin, Director of the Department of International Chinese Language Education; and all international students of the Class of 2026 attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Jing, Vice Dean of the School of International Education and Exchange.



At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Dean Li Jing introduced the leaders, faculty, and student representatives attending the welcome meeting, and extended a warm welcome to the new students of the Class of 2026.


II. Message from the School | Polishing the "Study at BSU" Brand and Placing Three Expectations on the Youth



Subsequently, Fan Ming, Dean of the School of International Education and Exchange, gave an overview of the university's international student work. Beijing Sport University is a national key university under the "211 Project" and a "Double First-Class" university. Over more than 70 years since its founding, it has trained over 15,000 international students from 106 countries. In recent years, the university has continued to enhance the "Study at BSU" brand. In 2026, it admitted a total of 126 new international students from 21 countries, including Germany, France, Switzerland, Russia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Currently, there are 252 international students enrolled, distributed across 16 schools and colleges of the university. The university regularly carries out brand activities such as national conditions education, "Beijing Night," and social practice for both Chinese and international students, and has established an international student sports club to promote deep integration between Chinese and international students.


Addressing the new students, Dean Fan Ming put forward three expectations: first, focus on academic studies and build a solid professional foundation; second, embrace cultural diversity and broaden global horizons; third, with passion in heart, pursue excellence and shoulder the mission of the youth. She wished all the new international students success in their studies, steady progress on their journey, a life worthy of their youth, and a promising future.


III. Departmental Interpretation | Clarifying Teaching and Research Services, Safeguarding International Students' Academic Growth

During the speeches by representatives of functional departments, Yu Liang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, introduced the work of the Academic Affairs Office. He gave a detailed explanation of the office's specific location and functions, helping new students understand the basic regulations of the university's teaching. He stated that the Academic Affairs Office will continue to provide teaching support and services for international students to help them successfully complete their studies.


Wang Xueshuang, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, introduced the work of the Graduate School, focusing on the supervisor-student mutual selection mechanism and academic integrity requirements. She reminded new graduate students to clarify their research direction as early as possible and to communicate proactively with their supervisors. She stated that the Graduate School will make every effort to provide training management and services, safeguarding the academic growth of international students.


IV. Words from Teachers | Cherish the Prime of Study, Broaden Horizons Through Exchange and Mutual Learning


Kuang Xin, teacher representative and Director of the Department of International Chinese Language Education, extended a warm welcome to the new students in her speech. She encouraged everyone to cherish their time of study, gain knowledge in the classroom, experience China in campus and city life, understand different cultures with an open and inclusive mindset, and continuously broaden their horizons and enhance their abilities through learning and exchange.


V. Senior Student Sharing | Personal Experiences and Reflections on Studying at BSU


Ao Hang, a student representative and PhD student of the Class of 2025 from the School of Strength and Conditioning, drew on his own experience to share his insights and gains from studying and living at BSU. He invited students to reflect on why they joined BSU and encouraged new students to actively integrate into campus life and bravely pursue their dreams.

VI. Voices of New Students | Coming with Aspirations, Determined to Study Hard and Strive Forward

Guo Haiwei, a 2026 master's student from the China Football College, and Fan Thi Ngoc Diep, a 2026 undergraduate student from the School of International Education and Exchange, spoke in turn as new student representatives. They respectively shared their first impressions of BSU and their future plans, expressing their aspirations for international student life and their determination to study hard.

VII. Earnest Expectations | Living Up to the Prime of the Times and Striving to Become Versatile International Sports Talents

Wang Ronghui, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, attaches great importance to international student work. He presented souvenirs to the new student representatives and delivered a concluding speech. He extended a warm welcome to the new students from around the world and encouraged them to cherish their time studying at BSU, actively participate in cultural exchanges between China and other countries, and strive to grow into versatile international sports talents with solid professional foundations, a good understanding of sports development, broad horizons, and a strong sense of responsibility.


VIII. Closing | Joining Forces to Accompany International Students in Their Dedicated Pursuit of Learning and Ideals

The welcome meeting concluded successfully amid warm applause. It not only gave the new international students of the Class of 2026 a more comprehensive understanding of the university, but also provided strong support for them to adapt to campus life as soon as possible and integrate into the BSU family. In the future, the university will continue to be the students' most solid and warmest support, accompanying them with a high-quality educational environment and a broad platform for growth as they study diligently and pursue their ideals.
