Recently, the 8th "SFLEP Cup" National College Students' Intercultural Competence Contest — "Narrating China, Communicating China" Short Video Competition came to a successful conclusion. In this convergence of wisdom and creativity, a cross-cultural team from our university, composed of students from Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries, moved forward side by side under the attentive guidance of instructor Zhou Yaohu. With their sincere narrative perspective and unique power of cultural integration, they ultimately won the National Second Prize, using the language of the lens to write a vivid and heartwarming footnote for "Narrating China."

Acceptance Speech

In the 8th "SFLEP Cup" National College Students' Intercultural Competence Contest — "Narrating China, Communicating China" Short Video Competition, our team from Beijing Sport University forged ahead through

all obstacles. We first captured the Special Prize in the Beijing division, and then went on to win the National Second Prize in the final round! This achievement stands as a testament to half a year of relentless effort by the team,

and more importantly, it is a shared glory belonging to everyone who supported us along the way.

From the sweltering heat of July to the bitter cold of December, spanning over 180 days and nights, we gave everything we had in pursuit of the goal in our hearts. While other participating teams were equipped with

professional filming gear and using premium, paid editing software, our creative tools consisted of nothing more than ordinary mobile phones and free editing apps. Lacking sophisticated hardware, we made up for it

with boundless passion; without professional technical support, we accumulated experience through countless rounds of meticulous refinement.

Countless late-night brainstorming sessions, repeated journeys for on-location shoots, and adjustment after adjustment of edited sequences... We held firm to one belief: the essence of creation lies in sincerity.

As long as we cherished the original aspiration of "Narrating China and Communicating China," even the most ordinary equipment could capture moving Chinese stories, and even the most basic tools could edit together

a cross-cultural dialogue full of warmth.

Behind this achievement lies an immeasurable amount of warm support. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our instructor for their meticulous guidance—from topic selection and script refinement to filming techniques

and the nuances of cross-cultural expression. The instructor's professional direction charted the course for us. We are also deeply thankful to our families for their unconditional understanding and encouragement.

Whenever we hit a creative bottleneck or felt physically and mentally exhausted, home remained our most steadfast harbor. Furthermore, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to our friends from Thailand, China,

Vietnam, and Uzbekistan. Your diverse perspectives infused our work with a cross-cultural soul, and your companionship and assistance ensured that our creative journey was never a lonely one.

A Special Prize in the capital division and a National Second Prize—to outsiders, these may seem like just ordinary award titles. But to our team from Beijing Sport University, they are fruits nurtured by sweat and perseverance, the highest affirmation of our half-year of hard work, and they carry extraordinary significance! Of course, every competition comes with its share of regrets. The goal of the National First Prize remains unrealized for now, but that very regret has transformed into fuel propelling us forward. A new journey is about to begin, and our goal is clear and resolute: next year, we will return to the arena with more mature work and even greater passion, and we will bring the honor of National First Place back to Beijing Sport University! We'll see you at the summit!

Honor is not the finish line, but rather a new starting point for the story. This team from Beijing Sport University—brought together across mountains and seas to create collectively—has proven through the most sincere lens language that moving Chinese stories are born from resonating hearts and brought to life through cultural dialogue. They regard this national award as a mere footnote, while their gaze is already fixed on the vast horizons beyond. On the long road of cross-cultural exchange, everyone can become a storyteller, and every sincere narrative has the power to illuminate one another. In the future, this team will continue to use imagery as their vessel and culture as their sail, journeying toward deeper understanding and empathy.

The journey continues, and their lenses are leaving a warm and vivid imprint on this very era!
