On May 10, the "2026 Capital Universities Invitational Badminton Tournament for International Students in China" came to a successful close at the gymnasium of China University of Geosciences (Beijing). The international student team from Beijing Sport University fought their way through tough rounds, successfully defending their championship title and once again showcasing the BSU spirit on the capital's university courts!
This year's tournament brought together 39 teams from 29 universities in Beijing, making for an exceptionally competitive event. Our university carefully organized 14 international students into two full teams, with members coming from various colleges including the College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, the College of Management, the College of Education, and the College of Competitive Sports.
From morning till evening, after 12 hours of intense, high-level competition across 12 matches, the students of Beijing Sport University steadily advanced with full enthusiasm, seamless coordination, and solid professional skills. In the finals, the team remained calm and fought tenaciously, ultimately securing a decisive victory with a total score of 60:31. They firmly claimed the championship trophy and successfully defended their title!
This tournament adopted a "seniors mentoring juniors" approach, fully integrating the incoming international students of the Class of 2025. This not only allowed upperclassmen to play a leading role but also helped newcomers quickly integrate into the team, experience the power of teamwork, and personally immerse themselves in the sports culture of Chinese universities—exchanging skills through competition and growing through sports.
On the court, every jump and every smash embodied sweat and perseverance; every coordination and every cheer demonstrated the cohesion and sportsmanship of Beijing Sport University students. Looking ahead, Beijing Sport University will continue to build more platforms for exchange and showcase, helping international students strengthen their bodies, broaden their horizons, build friendships, and display the vibrant spirit of BSU's global students!
