On February 10th, the Yikoule Cafeteria at Wenzhou University’s South Campus was filled with warmth and festive cheer.
The university’s Deputy Party Secretary, Zhuang Xingzhong, Vice President and Party Committee Member Wang Shun, together with officials from the Student Affairs Office, Graduate Affairs Office, Public Administration Office, International Student Office, and related faculties, gathered with over 50 international and Chinese students staying on campus. Through activities such as dumpling-making, writing Spring Festival couplets, and the traditional “Touhu” game, participants enjoyed an immersive experience of Chinese folk culture and celebrated the Chinese New Year together.
At the event, each activity area was buzzing with excitement. The most popular was the dumpling-making station, where international students from various countries followed teachers and Chinese classmates, carefully filling and folding dumplings. In no time, plates were filled with dumplings of all shapes and sizes.
“This is my first time making dumplings. They may not look perfect, but I truly felt the meaning of ‘reunion,’” said a student from Uzbekistan, holding up the dumplings they had made, their face beaming with joy.

At the couplet-writing station, the air was filled with the fragrance of ink. Red papers were spread out as students waved their brushes, inscribing auspicious messages such as “Great Luck in the Year of the Horse” and “I Love Wenzhou University.” Newly written couplets and “Fu” characters were eagerly claimed by participants, blending the aroma of ink with laughter to create a heartwarming festive atmosphere.
The “Touhu” game area was full of laughter as students carefully aimed and tossed arrows into the target, enjoying the unique charm of traditional Chinese games and etiquette. Applause and cheers echoed throughout the venue.

University leaders visited each activity area, chatting warmly with students and asking about their study and life arrangements on campus, while extending Chinese New Year greetings.
